Day 6 in the Forget Me Not Watch Box . . .
(mostly watches I've had for a while, but not vintage)

William Marshall Swiss Masterpieces 3319
(An Epos Originale 3319SL under Private Label)

Manufacturing date unknown; circa 2005
25j, 28.8kbph ETA 2824-2 automatic
Sapphire crystal
Screw down solid case back
Push/Pull crown
WR: 3ATM/30m/100ft
Aftermarket bracelet (came with black leather strap)

A one-man regional watch brand based in Ohio, William Marshall Swiss Masterpieces came and went rather quickly. They contracted with Epos for at least three different models of their watches be made under private label, and marketed them to local jewelry and department stores. Epos had a non-competitive marketing territory agreement that William Marshall would not market or sell the watches Epos made for them in any country where Epos marketed Epos branded watches through their authorized dealers and distributors. Epos was not marketing in North America (at least at the time). When the William Marshall business failed, Epos dumped all remaining William Marshall Swiss Masterpieces inventory to recoup the cost they had incurred making them instead of redialing them with Epos dials. Many, like this one, found their way into ePrey auctions and could be had for 25-30% the cost of buying the Epos labeled model. Many potential bidders and some sellers didn't know what they really were: Epos watches under private label. The only difference between a William Marshall Swiss Masterpieces and an Epos, down to all markings including the reference numbers on their backs, is the brand name on their dials. As I understand it, Epos ceased making private label watches after a change in ownership and/or top management. Compare William Marshall photo above with these of an Epos Originale 3319SL, which came on a black leather strap identical to the one on the Epos.
