I wash fabric straps at least once or twice a year in the laundry. Do it right however, buy one of those mesh zip-up bags at the store in the aisle where all the laundry stuff is. They are normally called lingerie bags and they will keep the straps from being banged around or scraped as it agitates. They also won't get lost in the rest of the clothes.

I need help! If I throw a NATO in with a load of wash, will it be OK? Will it soften up a little? Zeb 107 April 20, 2017 02:50PM
Thanks, Guys! No bag, so I just threw one in with the wash. We'll se what happens. It's a cheap one. (n/t) Zeb 66 April 20, 2017 03:50PM

I've also just used an old toothbrush and some dishwashing liquid... BobbyMikeRedux 70 April 20, 2017 03:34PM
I think the Caveman takes them down to the creek and beats them clean with a couple of rocks. Laughing (n/t) BF Hammer 56 April 20, 2017 03:37PM
Rocks, sticks, bones, even a pair of slow-moving turtles will work, in a pinch. Caveman 65 April 21, 2017 02:33AM
