Can demagnetizing help a watch running slow?
October 12, 2017 01:30PM
Got a Parnis GMT last week and it was running between 5-10 secs. per day fast. Now its losing time and is erratic. I gave it a full wind yesterday to test its PR which turned out to be 46 h=rs. but I checked from time to time and it was perhaps 20 secs slow and the sped up to 5 secs fast and now ran about 7 secs slow for 4-5 hrs. I always thought demagnetizing was for watches that sped up all of a sudden but it was suggested to me it can be used to fix one running slow too. Any ideas? Something is up but now sure what it is. Thanks!

I am thinking it is more likely that some beats are missing on catching the pawl. BF Hammer 65 October 12, 2017 05:07PM
