To make anything last it has to be taken care of ..........

If a quartz movement has jewels, they have to be lubed just like a mechanical. The PuristPro site looks like it's down, but someone did a great in depth series on servicing. Long debated are the two schools of thought on servicing, do it as a precaution or wait till it stops. He stripped down watches that long due for service but were running fine. But under high magnification shots many parts were so bad you'd say OMG. With an expensive watch and movement you have a choice of a good full service here and there, or a lot of work and cost replacing parts or get a new expensive movement. For inexpensive watches maybe wear it until it no longer works.

BTW, checkout Ofrei.com. I have an old catalog of theirs and they had a movement replacement guide Something from another company may fit.

Honestly, I consider almost all my watches disposable. They will most likely last the rest of my life Zeb 111 March 13, 2018 12:40PM
