It's worthy of discussion

Funny this should come up today. It's a point of discussion here at Hemel House especially as we continue to grow and define our customer. Personally I find that there's room for both in my collection. I admire the engineering and the history of a mechanical movement but there's no denying the practicality of an incredibly inexpensive engine that is both very inexpensive to manufacture and maintain. Oh, and that is ridiculously precise as well.

For Hemel, a quartz watch lowers the barrier for entry for those who wish to support the brand but are unwilling or unable to buy in. There's also a sizable consumer base out there that doesn't really care about the gears and springs. They're more interested in economical options, precision and "one less thing to worry about". And that's okay...I'm just happy that they're still interested in watches.

Honestly, I consider almost all my watches disposable. They will most likely last the rest of my life Zeb 166 March 13, 2018 12:40PM
