Off TopicEek! About 1 hour ago there was a huge gas-line explosion in my childhood neighborhood.

I still live close, about 3/4 mile from ground-zero as the crow flies. I was just watching a baseball game on TV and felt and heard an impact across the east side of my house. I ran outside immediately believing at first a car had gone off-road and crashed into the house. Well no, all the neighbors were emerging from their homes too. It was an explosion nearby. And as updates came in by the police scanners, it was in my childhood neighborhood. They are digging new gas lines on the major roads the past few weeks. The crews apparently hit the active gas line. There was some warning and evacuations started, but it exploded anyway.

So I still know some families on that street. And I'm a bit emotional now looking at the photo I found on a local news web site of the fire and rubble. Actually this photo looks like it was taken just a couple doors down from the old homestead. There have been many ambulances going by my home. Emergency responders are flooding in from all the neighborhood communities. Sun Prairie's Fire Station #1 is in this actual blast area, out of frame on the left side of photo. This is the downtown of the city.
