The contact spray trick worked!! Thank you! Applause
avatar November 03, 2018 02:44AM
First I was wondering if I still had that old, old (80's. 90's?) spray can of Philips contact spray second of it still had some in, and third, if it still had pressure, YES to #1, 2 and 3! A quality product can stand the decades! (There are still compact disc players in the high end regions driven by old fashioned movements from the Dutch Philips brand! Not necessarily by Philips brand on the outside)
Anyway, took it apart, battery and a plastic cover inside and a short burst and let it dry and clean the moist a bit off with a tissue and reattach everything. RUNS! and wearing it now!

So many hobbies, so little money...

I feels really as a blessing, that Mike figured that out and just a little later, I needed the same solution! James T. Kirk© 71 November 03, 2018 01:36PM
Laughing I'm sure others have - and just kept it a secret. (n/t) Mike D 71 November 03, 2018 06:35AM

Thank you, but with shipping and all it might get expensive. I still have a local watchmaker and he's pretty good, but first I try contact cleaner. (n/t) James T. Kirk© 67 November 03, 2018 02:03AM

That's what my Citizen 800m was doing. I have a battery tester, so I tested and made sure my batteries were good... Mike D 70 November 02, 2018 02:19PM
Never heard of that brand, but I might have some Philips contact cleaner (n/t) James T. Kirk© 69 November 03, 2018 01:59AM
Not a brand name, it is the special spray you are supposed to use to clean a Mass Airflow Sensor in an automobile. BF Hammer 78 November 03, 2018 07:52AM
Got it, and never heard of, but I'm not a mechanic... Wink James T. Kirk© 70 November 03, 2018 01:45PM
I will add to this discussion that a plain voltmeter is not the best way to measure a battery. Png Attachments BF Hammer 84 November 02, 2018 02:41PM
I believe you, but it's the best I have and it says if a battery is dead, almost or not at all Wink (n/t) James T. Kirk© 70 November 03, 2018 02:01AM
I'm sure that one is better than what I use, but this one does work, at least, although probably not very accurate for reasons you outlined Jpeg Attachments Mike D 97 November 02, 2018 03:22PM
