Realising that my current collection lacked even a single sample of a certain well known affordable watch brand with roots harking back to the mid-1800's USA, I just had to get one. Granted, the brand is currently under Dutch ownership, but the heritage is still there.
The brand? Timex, the one that takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'....
I opted for a retro styled one, from the Archive collection. With a compact Stainless steel 36mm case, snap-back, fixed lugs and a classic military style 12/24h no date dial. Hacking quartz movement. Came on a 1-piece nylon strap with stainless steel hardware. Very nicely finished, feels solid, the second hand even hits more or less right on the markers, a pet peewee of mine when it comes to quartz watches. I've seen watches over 10-20 times as expensive failing to do that. Lume is not that great, but goes well with the retro style....
All in all, a great addition to my 2019 affordable watch collection.
