Margin Call watch budget

Just about every character in Margin Call has a $20,000 watch. It is a movie about Wall Street. I figure it is accurate, that on Wall St. you have to wear a socially acceptable watch of a certain value to show you are a member of the banking profession. I would choose a solid gold Rolex GMT. Though wearing that is a little pretentious. It means you are the president of the company.

The Jeremy Irons character could wear a gold Rolex GMT. Jeremy Irons plays Dick Fuld, the ceo of Lehman Brothers.

The character Mark Baum, a hedge fund manager, in the second photo, wears a simple stainless steel Rolex Submariner.

Re: The fact that Rolex is the default correct choice, as intended by decades of Rolex design and marketing, makes Rolex less desirable for me. James T. Kirk© 24 October 04, 2019 07:29AM
