I've not played with new cameras for a couple of years.

I will say I am a fan of my Panasonic Lumix as my P&S option camera. Select one of the cameras with a more "all-in-one" zoom range and the Leica lens will not disappoint. Only drawback with mine is .jpg is the only file-format option.
